Job Details
As an SLP Summer Intern, you will work under the supervision of licensed SLPs and gain practical experience that is essential for your future career. This is a paid position, designed for undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in a speech-language pathology program. Interns will participate in various activities, including assessments, therapy sessions, and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting assessments for clients with speech and language disorders.
- Support SLPs during therapy sessions by implementing treatment plans.
- Document progress and update client records under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client evaluations and treatment strategies.
- Engage with clients and their families to provide education on speech and language development.
- Help organize and participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about speech disorders.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
- Strong interest in working with individuals with communication disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
