Job Description

The Heavy Lathe Machine Operator will be responsible for operating large-scale lathe machines to produce high-quality components per engineering specifications. This role requires a strong background in machining, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy lathe machines, including CNC and manual lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Monitor machinery operations to ensure safe and efficient functioning.
• Measure and inspect finished products for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on lathes and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize production processes.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in machining or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy lathe machines.
• Strong knowledge of machining principles, techniques, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
