Job Description

As a Malay Transcriber, your primary responsibility will be to convert audio and video recordings in Malay into written text. You will ensure that transcripts are accurate, clear, and well-organized.

Key Responsibilities

• Listen to audio or video recordings in Malay and provide accurate written transcriptions.
• Review and edit transcripts for grammatical accuracy and coherence.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of all transcription materials.
• Adhere to deadlines for project completion.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure quality standards are met.
• Provide feedback on audio quality and suggest improvements.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Fluency in Malay (spoken and written) is essential; knowledge of English is a plus.
• Strong listening skills and the ability to understand various accents.
• Proficiency in typing with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute.
• Familiarity with transcription software (experience with specific tools is a plus but not required as training will be provided).
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in transcription, especially in Malay, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of industry-specific terminologies (legal, medical, academic, etc.) is an advantage.
• A degree or certification in a relevant field (but not mandatory).
